United - A Defenders Dream!

Was it a defenders dream?

With both sides keeping clean sheets at Eastlands last night, there could be a flimsy case for suggesting that the defences came out on top, if we ignore the fact that neither side created a glut of chances.

Nemanja Vidic, alongside Rio Ferdinand, at the heart of our defence was naturally pleased that united had kept another clean sheet and that the penchant for conceding goals, as demonstrated against West Brom, Everton and Fulham, appears to have been curtailed, when he remarked post match,

"It was the right result because you saw two teams defending very well."

"The pressure was on City to win and it proved to be a tough place to come."

"They were strong and did not give us many chances. We played some good football but did not create many chances."

Time to move on we think and look ahead to Villa Park this Saturday!

Its great to hear your side put in a defensive performance but it's horrible to hear both sides put in a defensive performance because it means it was a very dull match.
