United - Blanc up for the Task!

Sir Alex Ferguson, despite his remarkable achievements, isn`t going to go on for ever!

Some time in the future the wily Scotsman will call it a day and Manchester United will have the enormous task of carrying the United torch forward.

No doubt, there`ll be no shortage of candidates prepared to take on the role, some bad and some, undoubtedly very talented.

Whoever gets the job though will be aware that they`ll be succeeding a man who has made history.

One man who has already expressed an interest in taking on the role is the French national boss, Laurent Blanc.

Blanc, who had a period in his career as a United player has remarked,

"Sir Alex is the cornerstone of United. He personifies Manchester`s project and he has this passion."

"It would be interesting, although a very tough challenge, if the replacement process started with me. I could be interested. It would please me a lot."

Could Laurent Blanc be the man?
