United - Scholes - The Fervour Burns!

Paul Scholes is old school! For him the derby match remains something truly special and his dislike of all things sky blue comes shining through in the tabloid press this morning.

Talking about his ambitions for the season he lets it be known that if United can`t win it he doesn`t want the blue half of the city to win it when he remarks,

"We want to win trophies but we can`t win everything. And while we don`t get the option of choosing who wins the others there are some teams you would rather do it and other you would prefer not to."

The intense rivalry Scholes feels is echoed in other remarks, with Paul commenting,

"We are all desperate to stay above City. Even a 21-year-old newcomer to the club will feel the same way. We wouldn`t like City to win anything in much the same way as they wouldn`t want us to win anything."

"The fact is City are a top team. They have spent a lot of money on quality players and had a great start to the season."

"Maybe they have come unstuck a little bit lately but form does go out of the window on occasions such as this. Anything can happen on derby night."

Anything, including a last gasp winner from a certain Mr Scholes,

"all desperate"? Some serious mixed messages coming from the Swamp. The alzheimers must be getting to Slur, sending his troops out to the media with contradictory views.

I reckon Scholes could be the difference, unfortunately, tomorrow!
merlin
Just love Scholes - old school and wanting a win so much tomorrow!
Red Boy
Who do you reckon will be the victim of a vicious Scholes tackle tomorrow? My money is on Silva being the recipient, let's just hope the refs don't buy into the"can't tackle" myth that has inexplicably built up around the murderous thug. He means every one.
