'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Butt Coming Back?

They often say that players regret retiring a touch too early!

Some, when reflecting, wish they`d gone on for another season or two, seemingly having forgotten how ageing limbs often betrayed a sharp mind.

Others, slip away from English football and play out their twilight years in foreign football, but football that`s played at a lower level than they`d become accustomed too, thereby reducing the effects of those limbs betraying the mind.

One of our former players, Nicky Butt, retired after helping Newcastle to promotion, opting not to try to help Newcastle establish themselves in the Premier League.

A commendable action we`d say especially if Nicky realised that he couldn`t attain the standards he`d set whilst previously plying his trade in our domestic top-flight.

However, a source tells us that Nicky could well be contemplating coming out of retirement to play for the Hong Kong Champions, South China, if so we`d like to be amongst the first to wish him well!
