United - Rooney - Support From Lampard?

United - Rooney - Support From Lampard?

Having been dispatched to the good old USA for some good old rehabilitation, it`s muted that Wayne Rooney, hot on the heels of a sojourn in Dubai, may well be back for duty this weekend.

However, quite what state of mind he`ll be in remains to be seen as his season of discontent continues to meander down a particularly strange route.

Nevertheless, whilst many seem content to continue to knock Wayne and display that all too familiar trait of kicking a man when he`s down, he does have some support from amongst his fellow professionals.

Frank Lampard, another England regular who has spent a considerable amount of time on the sidelines injured, has stood up to defend Wayne on a Radio 5 Live documentary entitled The Real Rooney scheduled t be broadcast soon, commenting,

"He`s a confident boy but not over confident. He`s a very sensitive lad."

"We get on very well. He crosses all the boundaries or factions within a squad that you always have. He`s the one you want next to you as a mate if you go to war - or if you just want a laugh."

Great to see someone who is so respected in the game coming firmly out on Wayne's side!
