Man Utd Defenders Near Fitness

Great news for Manchester United and England international defenders Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville.

Director of communications Adrian Bevington told the FA's official site:

'Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville's injuries were scanned today at the team's base camp in Baden Baden. Both scans provided positive news. Rio picked up a groin injury during the match with Sweden last night. However, today's scan result was clear. Rio will now continue to be assessed by the medical staff on a daily basis ahead of Sunday's match with Ecuador.'

'Gary Neville's scan was also positive. His calf injury which has kept him out of the past two games showed significant improvement. Gary will continue his rehab tomorrow with fieldwork under the supervision of physio Gary Lewin.'

After seeing Sol Cambell come on lets hope he is fit and raring to go, good partnership with JT

Neville definitely gets forward more than Carrick, so if he is fit it would be great to see him back in the team. I thought Sol did ok but Rio is certainly more match fit and quicker!

I think its also paramount that if sven is not gonna drop beckham that G.N. plays as they know each others play inside out.
