United - Ferdinand Rested!

As far as full blooded comebacks go, you`d have to say that Rio Ferdinand`s is being very carefully managed.

Rio, who has recently comeback from a knee injury picked up in the build up to the 2010 World Cup, in South Africa, is known to be carrying a variety of previous ailments that need careful managing.

Therefore, with a long flight ahead of him and with United`s qualification for the knockout stages not yet in any serious doubt, it won`t come as too much of a surprise to learn that Sir Alex Ferguson views the fixture with Bursaspor as one that is an ideal opportunity to rest Rio ahead of two crucial Premier League fixtures, the second of which is against our local rivals and fading force, Manchester City

No shock really with how injury-prone he is. Like an old man with his back.
