United`s Evra Scarred!

The South Africa World Cup seems so distant now that the Premier League is in full swing!

But for one man, our international full back, Patrice Evra, it has left a lasting impression.

Cast, temporarily, into the international wilderness following the Anelka saga, Patrice has spoken about his continuing suspension and also how much pulling on the national journey means to him when he`s quoted in the media as having remarked,

"I am still mentally scarred."

"I will only get over it once I pull on the blue shirt of France once again." It hurts to watch them play."

"I will play for my country as long as my legs carry me, and the coach and my team-mates want me to."

We have to say it is certainly a different attitude to that expressed by some members of our squad who have thrown the international towel in!

Good for him. I find it quite saddening how lowly many folks think of international football, when in reality no other competition in the game means as nearly as much! In my opinion...

Our Anelka was, how you might say - SHAT ON!
