A Poppy Day Red Rant!

A Poppy Day Red Rant!

Yesterday, I ran an article whereby I applauded Manchester United Football Club for doing the decent thing and the subsequent purchasing of the two most prominent items of memorabilia in the Nobby Stiles auction.

Today, according to my sources, we remain the only Premier League club that has not committed to incorporating a poppy in our kit design for Remembrance Day!

The same source tells us that last season two clubs, ourselves and Liverpool , didn`t do the deed, Liverpool, at Roy Hodgson`s assistance, have obliged this year.

With what is going on around the globe at the moment, with British Forces, we ca but hope United confirm they will do the decent thing this year.

If by chance my source has gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick and United have committed to participating then I offer my apologies, but, in merely running this article I hope it brings to our attention the need for us all to play our part an donate the loose change in our pockets to those collecting on behalf of this most noble of charities - Poppy Day!

Insult to injury if we don't add a poppy to our kit. Its a p155 take that Rooney is earning more than a soldier in their lifetime but to not show some respect towards them is very ignorant and unappreciative.
