United - Bravo!

United - Bravo!

Something happened yesterday that restored my faith in humanity.

As we reported earlier this week, our former player and United legend, Nobby Stiles was auctioning his football memorabilia off.

Nobby had decided to take this course of action after struggling to decide which of his many artifacts he should leave to which of his dependents.

With the memorabilia going under the hammer, in Edinburgh, it transpires that Manchester united Football Club purchased the two top items, namely his 1966 World Cup Winners` medal and his 1968 European Cup Final winners` medal. The former cost £160,000 and the latter £48,300.

All in all United bought eight lots which will shortly be on vie win the club museum and the forty-five items of memorabilia raised a whopping £424,000.

Like I said, this has restored my faith in humanity with the items remaining where they belong instead of being sold to a wealthy individual who`d whisk them out of the country.

Our heart felt thanks go to all those who decided that Old Trafford was the right place for the two aforementioned treasures.
