United - Owen to Quit Bombshell!

United - Owen to Quit Bombshell!

Manchester United may well have awarded n anew deal to Wayne Rooney and have new deals lined up for John O`Shea and Patrice Evra but one player seems to have become an outcast, of sorts.

Michael Owen is in the second year of his two-year deal, after signing for United on a free transfer, but his future appears clouded in mystery with Owen admitting that no talks have been held with regards to a contract extension.

Indeed, the absence of such talks have left Michael pondering over whether he has a future left in the game at all with the striker mulling over whether, at a mere thirty years of age, to call it a day.

Talking to the media, this is what Owen had to say about his situation,

"I would honestly love to stay but you will have to ask the manager about the long term."

"I could score at this level for many years and would love it to be at a top club like United."

"Whether I would want to be dropping down to a poorer Premier League team, I don`t know."

"Yes I could score goals but I would probably get less opportunities and less enjoyment."

"I just don`t feel my game is suited to a team that is really struggling. I won`t drop down league."

"I have played in big teams before and played every game and I have played in a struggling team. I know which I prefer."

So what`s the verdict?

Should Owen be given a contract extension or has he become surplus to requirements?

Tough one especially with a striking contingency of Berby, Rooney, Macheda, Hernandez at current and then Welbeck at the start of next season and who possibly knows perhaps Joshua King as well.Perhaps a year extension as a precautionary move.

Is Micheal Owen still alive? Maybe he's going to drop the bombshell that he's leaving to 'win things'. Little turd.
