United - Standard Midweek Midfield Chatter!

United - Standard Midweek Midfield Chatter!

It`s been a grand old week when it comes to tabloid transfer rumours.

This week could be termed midfield week seeing as the majority of the gossip relates to possible signings for our midfield department.

Earlier this week the grapevine was buzzing with the suggestion that Bastien Schweinsteiger was being monitored and then the same grapevine went into over-drive when Inter Milan`s Wesley Sneijder became the apparent main attraction.

Since then that talk has cooled with Inter seemingly convinced that Sneijder will sign a new contract.

And amongst the more familiar names were two, perhaps, lesser known in a pair from Dutch football, Ibraham Afellay of PSV Eindhoven and Leroy Fer of Feyenoord. Neither of which really tickled our fancy.

Today we appear to have gone full circle with the name of the Belgian, Steven Defour, becoming the media buzz word.

According to the chatter doing the rounds the Standard Liege player has admitted he`d love to move to Old Trafford.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring!

I would love to see Sneijder re-enforcing that much needed AM role.
