United - So Much For Solidarity!
With Wayne Rooney away on holiday soaking up the rays and mulling over how to spend the fortune coming his way, courtesy of that whopping new contract, it was interesting to witness what happened amongst the United faithful at the Britannia Stadium.
Although several stars, past and present were serenaded, forgive me if I`m wrong, there were no chants in homage to a player that upset the apple-cart with his outburst last week.
Instead, it was left to the Stoke City fans to fill the crisp air with the odd ditty, or two, about our centre forward, with the one that made me chuckle the most being,
"Robbed by a Scouser, you`re getting robbed by a Scouser"
But diversifying slightly, but continuing on a Rooney theme, whilst he`s apologized to all and sundry about the furor he kicked of last week, wouldn`t he have been better served sat huddled on the bench with his team mates, showing solidarity to the cause, rather than scooting off in search of sunshine!
