United - Protest Outcry!

Splashed across the tabloids are pictures of an unsavoury incident that took place last night.

Pictures that show a group of lads assembled outside the gates of the Rooney Mansion seemingly intent on forcing a showdown.

Apparently they were trying to string up a banner that read;

Sign for City And You`re Dead

whilst also trying to entice Rooney out into the street to explain exactly why he wants to leave Manchester United.

Rooney, as you would having seen the group on his CCTV system, called the Police and the group were dispersed.

The tabloids give different variations on a theme when it comes to who was responsible for the affair, one reckons it was The Men in Black whilst the other reckons it was a group calling themselves the Manchester Education Committee.

Either way, despite our views on the Rooney saga, we`re appalled at what went on last night.

It reminds me of the pressure Liverpool supporters put on Steve Gerrard when he was on the verge of leaving Liverpool.

If Rooney has set his heart on going the he will, if a player doesn`t want to wear our red shirt with pride then he should be allowed to leave, but harassing his family isn`t, in our view, the right way to go about unearthing the truth or even in trying to convince Wayne he`d be better off staying.

And as for the Sign for City And You`re Dead banner, how pathetic does that make us look in the eyes of the law-abiding public?
