United Issue a Rooney Statement!

United Issue a Rooney Statement!

Yesterday the mantra coming from within the sanctum that is Old Trafford implied that everything would be done to put this matter to bed early.

Now we presumed that would mean either telling Rooney he was staying or telling him he was going!

But, with the talks starting later than first reported, it transpires that is far form the case an done leading tabloid is now suggesting that Rooney has started to have a change of heart and wants to stay.

Now whether that`ll be the case remains to be seen, but in the meantime all we`re left with is to mull over a statement issued by the club that reads as thus:

"We are aware there is intense public and media interest on the club at the moment, but there are no developments of not to report."

"A number of meetings have taken place today, including with the players representative. The outcome of those meetings will become clear in the future. In the meantime, fans are asked to be patient."

Patient!

It wasn`t us that implied this whole sorry matter would be put to bed early was it?

But then again how were we to know a new five year deal was on the verge of being signed?
