'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - The Rooney Backlash!

Conspicuous by his absence last night, Old Trafford was a strange sight last night.

Whereas, previously, Rooney had been the self-proclaimed darling of the Stretford End, those very fans who worshipped the very turf he trod on appear to have been rocked by the sudden turn of events this week.

In fact, it`s fair to say that even if there were a sudden turnaround in the situation it`d take Rooney a long time to win over the red-hordes again.

This morning, the tabloid press takes great delight in parading pictures of the anti-Rooney feeling that is sweeping through Old Trafford, pictures of banners proclaiming,

"Who`s the Whore Now."

"Coleen Forgave You We Won`t"

And presenting to the nation a sight that many didn`t dare dream would be prevalent when the season commenced back in August.

A sad indictment of how things can change so suddenly and how the very foundations of our dreams can be rocked to the core!

Give him a break but sell him to a club who needs him.

a break, give him a break - he's committed treason!

Some very tasteful banners on display at the swamp last night!. Treason? All he's said is that he won't be renewing his contract, it's your club and fans that have forced him out. I've hear there have even been some death threats. Pure class from the world's classiets (sic) club.

death threats lmfao what goes around comes around and what is happening here is the same as what has happened to my club and others when you have gone sniffing and unsettling players hes realised you are sliding and it is KARMA

he's committed treason lol......im sorry but did he kill Fergi? The guy just dont wanna extend his stay and suddenly he's a traitor.

ya thats what i don't get, sure i can see Scum fans getting mad/sad but its not like he asked to be transfered asap, all he said was that after my current contract i don't want to resign with you. What he did to the blue scum was terrible (forcing them to sell him) but so what the kid signed a contract and is respecting it but refuses to resign another one with you guys. WTF

Please don't let the macrocosm speak for the microcosm. I'm gutted and have got a bitter taste in my mouth, as expected, but at the same time i respect his wishes. The only thing that's bothering me is, even before his injury, he isn't giving a 100% and playing his heart out everygame for us in the way Ronaldo did before him. I also think the comments about us needing him more than he needs us laughable to say the least.

Rooney has resigned
