United - A Further Rooney Update!

Although the club has issued a terse statement relating to those scurrilous rumours printed in the Sunday tabloids about Rooney leaving, the red-tops persist with the story this morning.

The latest suggestion is that Real Madrid are poised to make their move for Rooney, even though Jose Mourinho apparently kyboshed the idea over the weekend, with the Spanish giants set to throw a former United target, Karim Benzema, into the deal.

The red-top infers that Benzema would be part of a player plus cash deal that would see a deal approaching 50 million comes to fruition.

We can but sit and wait for further developments in what could be a protracted affair!

Reddevils4ever89 I couldn't agree with you more. we have been behind him. He might not have had many games but why does he moan for???. I don't see Michael Owen moaning. And i think this is over money as well. Rooney done the same with Moyes at Everton over a higher wage. It was bound to happen again. He is actually lucky that Ferguson dropped him for his protection and not for his actions. But still he has to come up with his contradictions. Rooney for Ronaldo is what I say.

Don't forget folks, Karim Benzema might be spending a wee bit of time in gaol in the very near future:

Well Chelsea are title competitors but they haven't got 'mug' written on there head the way Chelse have, so, if he were to stay in England but not at United im sure a 70 mil bid from City would be more attractive than a logical Chelsea bid.

Sorry famous, but there is no way Rooney is worth 70m on current form. I reckon you'd be lucky to get 30m for him at the moment, and my personal hope is that he hangs on until the summer and pays off his contract and walks away for nothing. On a side note, I find it quite shocking how so many of your fans are absolutely slaughtering the guy (on other forums like republic of skanks) without knowing the full facts behind the issue. He is being absolutely vilified on the back of unsubstantiated rumours! OK, no smoke without fire, etc. but such is the depth of hatred towards Rooney emanating from his own "Fans" that I really cannot see a way back for him now. Own goal?

TFN7, even if you get 100m for him, which you won't, don't forget you have a debt which is growing everyday so that money, which you won't get, will probably go towards servicing that debt so it will make no difference to your team really.

dont think you will get anywhere near the 100 million for him..... you will be lucky to recoup your outlay, of 30 million so we could let you have 'Crocky' Santa Cruz and say 2 million for Shrek, AS HE STRUGGLING TO GET IN OUR SIDE much the same as Wayne would as he would have to prove his fitness....AND i still dont want him in a City shirt......

According to reports from Carrington, rooney was stretchered off today after a thoroughly nasty challenge from Ratboy Neville, and has aggravated his ankle injury. Looks like there really is no way back for him now. Will be quite funny if Neville has put him out for any length of time, as it will lose your club money. Amazing to think that after 6 years service and pretty much carrying you on his own last season that that is how you treat him. Absolutely shocking from those that call themselves "the biggest club in the world".

fcb, i know Rooney's true value but City, as i stated, have got 'mug' written all other them ( no offense to the fans just whoever it is incharge of transfers at your place ) and the 70 mil is an exaggeration but I dont doubt that your team will put in a rediculous bid, if interested, to see off opposition and get him. Furthermore, I appreciate your comments about fans being very shifty and i stated that to many of my friends however, you can't expect everyone to be happy with Rooney.
