United - Those Rooney Rumours!

It`s been a strange few weeks!

From the sublime to the ridiculous you could say!

But, if the red-top press are correct, we`ve not seen nothing yet with the red-tops inferring that Wayne Rooney could be leaving Manchester United as soon as January 2011.

It`s being reported that Wayne and Sir Alex are not on speaking terms and that Sir Alex has gotten approval from David Gill to sell Rooney in the transfer window.

Apparently Sir Alex is outraged that Wayne has defied his orders and following on form his dalliance with the prostitute that he feels shamed United has spoken out about that ankle injury he was supposedly suffering from or not suffering from.

Now whether the tables have, or have not, grabbed the wrong end of the stick or not, these are worrying times for United fans.

Rooney is seen by many as being the most high-profile player United have, especially with the old-guard slowly edging towards retirement.

A sale, whilst boosting the coffers, would be catastrophic but as has been proven in the past, if Sir Alex wants a player out he usually goes in that direction.

But more worryingly is the fear that Rooney`s final destination, being someone who doesn`t strike me as wanting to move away from the area, is that he could be moving to the only club in the north-west that has the money to undertake a deal that would cost £50 million in fees and a huge salary to match.

Losing Rooney would be one thing but losing him to City would be an unspeakable act!

He's *****e anyway, never rated him before last season and when he had his great season i though to myself wow he proved me wrong but looking at him now i just feel that the standard of the Premier league last year was poor and thats probably why he was so good...Lets hope he proves me wrong again, but when villa play utd i hope he is on the team sheet, rather him than berbatov.

We'd certainly take him at Spurs, but not for £50m! Would you accept Crouch, Keane and a packet of Murray mints?? Don't think SAF would sell him, the money'd get taken to pay debts, and Man need some world class players right now! He'll come good soon!

I do feel for you boys. No player should ever be bigger than the team (or the manager!) and if he's throwing out his toys now, just wait to see what happens if Cit£h or Madrid come in with £200k per week on the table. One thing for sure is that even if Chelsea did go for him it wouldn't be for more than £40m and he wouldn't get more than £150k p/w. Even those figures make me worry that we'd be tempted (afterall we were in for Torres at £50m and a reported £130 p/w)!
