United - Ferdinand is the Captain!

United - Ferdinand is the Captain!

It would appear that there was never any doubt as to whether Fabio Capello would re-appoint Rio Ferdinand as captain of England.

Whilst the press muttered on and on about how well the side had done under the leadership of Steven Gerrard, obviously neglecting to mention how poorly the side had done in South Africa with him in charge, Fabio Capello was sticking to his principles where everything is set in stone.

Speaking to the media, ahead of England`s crucial fixture with Montenegro at Wembley this evening, Fabio remarked about the situation,

"Rules are rules."

"In March, I made Rio my captain and Steven Gerrard my vice-captain. Now Rio is back - and he is captain again."

And, despite the clamour from the tabloid press relating to our perfect Stevie, you can`t get clearer than that can you!

Didn't do a bad job and perhaps was one of the best players on the pitch. We drew but I still put it down to Capello and his stubborness to play any formation other than a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1.
