United - Midfield Shenanigans!

United - Midfield Shenanigans!

Once again the internet is alive with nominating possible January signings.

Whilst yesterday it was the goalkeeping position that was subject to the immediate speculation, today we`re back in the midfield sector with a further two names thrown into the hat to compliment those already nominated by our lovely media.

One name mentioned could be familiar to some whilst the other may not.

Starting with the former, Lassana Diarra, several sources suggest that the midfielder may be on his way out of Real Madrid. Diarra has Premier League experience having been on the books of Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth. He`s a talented player who appears to be surplus to requirements following Jose Mourinho`s summer transfer splurge at Madrid. Interestingly, it was, we believe, Mourinho, who let the player leave Arsenal for Chelsea when he was at the London club.

The latter, Javier Martinez, is more of an unknown quantity for those not aware of his qualities. Currently on the books of Athletic Bilbao, Martinez is a player who is described as talented and with a golden future.

With the United midfield quota currently containing the veterans of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, there`s no doubt that it is an area that Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking at next summer with a view to bolstering the department but whether the two names mentioned, by the media, are in his thoughts only Sir Alex will, currently, know!

Diarra was always destined for greatness but it's just never happened!
