United - That Bellamy Rumour!

United - That Bellamy Rumour!

Is he telling the truth or is it pure fiction?

That loveable Welsh rogue, Craig Bellamy, has come out with a remarkable claim.

Bellamy, currently on loan at the Championship side, Cardiff City, reckons that his move to the Welsh side pushed through because Manchester United were showing a keen desire to lure him away from City to Old Trafford.

Or as Craig puts it,

"Someone else came in from above Tottenham which would have caused quite a few stirs."

"If I`d said I wanted to go there for one minute, my life in Manchester would have been really tough. It would`ve been a miracle had it come off."

"I tried to work out whether to hold out for that one or go home."

"But because of the other club`s interest, City panicked and pushed through the Cardiff thing through."

Interestingly, Manchester united have denied any interest in Craig Bellamy and also, if he was thinking about a move to Old Trafford then does this pour a little cold water on his outrageous claim that he always had a dream to play for Cardiff, his boyhood team?

Mind you, any confrontations between Sir Alex Ferguson and Bellamy would have been real box office material!

Everybody hates bellamy until he actually signs for them! I suspect types like Adam Teese might have made Craig a bit reluctant to pull on a red shirt though.

Couldn't imagine Fergie signing a player with a serious attitude problem.
