'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - England News!

Montenegro may not be the most attractive of opponents, on the international stage, but as far as football goes it`s all we have to look forward to over the coming days.

With the squad announced, yesterday, it`s pleasing to see that Fabio Capello has selected Rio Ferdinand, even though Rio has only played a handful of games. However, it will be interesting to see if Rio forces his way back into the starting eleven and even more so to see if Fabio will give Rio the captain`s armband back if he does make the starting eleven.

Competition for a place at the heart of the England defence remains fierce with Phil Jagielka having forced his way back into the squad and with the ex-England captain, John Terry, also available again after missing the last round of international matches with a rib injury.

Interestingly, despite the striker being rested for two to three weeks to get over an ankle injury and with the lad over in Prague on what is being described as a second honeymoon as he tries to get his domestic situation on an even keel, Wayne Rooney finds himself in the squad.

It`ll certainly be interesting to see if Sir Alex Ferguson lets Wayne join up with the England squad or whether, if he is withdrawn, those involved with the national team ask Wayne to attend to undertake a medical.

But, whilst it is good news for Ferdinand and Rooney, Michael Carrick misses out with his absence being described as being down to an injury. Strange that, didn`t Carrick play the other night and without any reports of an injury setback being fed to the media?

Carrick is playing ****** at the moment is all. Hopefully Rooney doesn't play also. Ferdinand however could do with the game time.
TheFamousNo7
alongside Jagielka or Terry then?
Red Boy
he'll be on the bench I reckon!
