United - A No-Goer?

If Manchester City baulked about selling or loaning Craig Bellamy to a title chasing rival in the Premier League, then one rumour, in a leading red-top this morning, is a definite non-starter.

One of the leading Sunday tabloids infers that Manchester United could well be looking at trying to bring Shay Given to Old Trafford in the transfer window.

Now whilst it looks a good idea on paper, there is another problem as well as the one we`ve already identified.

City may be reticent to sell him to us in the first place and one would imagine that Shay, after sitting on the City bench all season wouldn`t be that keen to be up against Edwin Van der Sar in the competition to be United`s number one as it could well be a case of swapping one bench for another!

This isn't even worth acknowledging let alone commenting my opinion on.

Real question is can you afford him?
me_innit
We're very unlikely to sell him to any of our close rivals for the top4/title, so he may well end up at old trafford this January.
