United - Phelan Explains Rooney Substitution!

With Kevin 'I`d Just Love It` Keegan content to harangue Wayne Rooney for yet another below par performance it was left to Mike Phelan to offer an explanation as to why Wayne was hauled off.

Apparently, it was all down to a minor knock and a change in tactics with Phelan confirming,

"Wayne had a bit of a knock. He wasn`t getting chances, so we had to change it."

Simple really isn`t it?

He can't really come out and say "The lads been caught shafting prozzies, his marriage is over and his head's in bits" now can he? ;)

He really does need to sort himself out. I don't like that poor performance after poor performance he is still in the first-team selection. Fair enough at any moment Rooney can change a game but that doesn't mean he should be untouchable in the line-up, give Owen a go and let Rooney sit and watch from the bench.
