'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Is Rooney Shot?

I`ve always thought Kevin Keegan had it in for us ever since that infamous "I`d just love it" rant when he was manager of Newcastle United and we stole the title off of them.

Therefore, I`m not too surprised that Keegan has aired his views on the current predicament that Wayne Rooney find himself in.

Yet again Wayne struggled to make an impact and it wasn`t too much of a surprise when Sir Alex Ferguson withdrew the struggling striker.

However, Keegan, offered this, almost, tirade, about Wayne, remarking,

"Manchester United are minus Wayne Rooney at the moment. It`s a different Wayne Rooney this year. It`s not the same. It`s like chalk and cheese. They need Wayne Rooney firing on all cylinders."

"His performance at Bolton tells me his confidence is shot."

He may well be low on confidence but with people keeping on reminding him, is that going to help?

Continuing, Keegan commented,

"You can`t have all the contracts, you can`t sell your wedding to magazines and things like this and suddenly say, 'That`s the tap I want to turn on but we want to turn the other one off."

"You can`t then turn around and say there`s too much paparazzi around or there is too much publicity."

"One moment you are courting it, the next minute you`re saying. `I don`t want this."

I don`t want this - is that what Keegan sort of said when he bailed out of the England job?

Like I said; he`s got some sort of 'I`d just love it` hangover has he not?
