United - Smith on Valenica!

United - Smith on Valenica!

The sight of Alan Smith writhing in agony, at Anfield, after having suffered an injury similar to that suffered by Antonio Valencia recently, remains a vivid sight.

Smith, many will say, was never the same player again and the player, now at Newcastle, has given a candid interview to the media whereby he gives us all something to ponder over by implying that a similar fate could befall Valencia, when he remarks,

"I`ve not been the same player since my injury. You`ve seen Eduardo have the same injury and he struggled so much and the thing is you`ve got to make the best of it."

"It would have been so easy to pack it in or not fight hard enough to get back and so easy to let your standards drop."

"It takes hours of work. Hopefully Antonio Valencia, who I saw have a bad injury, will be able to get back to the level that he was at before - but I know it will be very difficult. But I`d like to wish him all the best doing that."

Let`s hope that Alan Smith is proven wrong in this case, fingers crossed everyone!

I'm sure Valencia will be fine, he has got quite a different character to that of Smith and Eduardo.
