'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - When a Boy Becomes A Man!

It`s kind of ironic that the spotlight, regarding the poor scoring record of Wayne Rooney in recent times, has dimmed as the scoring exploits of his strike partner, Dimitar Berbatov, make all the headlines.

The media, thankfully, appear to have cooled their interest in Wayne`s personal life as they find some other celebrity to harangue and we suspect it has been a harsh lesson learned.

Speaking, ahead of our weekend clash with Bolton Wanderers, Sir Alex Ferguson has commented on the problems Wayne has faced and the acceptance that he needs to lead a different life to that he`d been accustomed to, explaining,

"I don`t believe that Wayne has a confidence problem. The boy is finally starting to realise what kind of focus is on him as a human being."

"The boy can`t turn without a camera being on him but, for a young person, that is not what you want."

"You want to play and enjoy your football without that attention to you as it can be quite exhausting"

Now we suspect those words were hammered home to young Wayne in a rather different fashion, by Sir Alex, when this kerfuffle entered the public domain!

i notice ferguson doesnt chase around manchester after rooney the way he did with lee sharpe and giggsy.instead he takes him back to the scene of the crime to stay the night.he got rid of beckham for less and rooney hasnt even filled beckhams boots yet.

Just needs to be steered in the right direction. Also, Rooney has never been a prolific goal-scorer before last season so I can't see how it has come to shock that he's not scoring goals again.
TheFamousNo7
its not just goals though, his overall play has not been anywhere near his best

When a boy becomes a man......by cheating on his pregnant wife. Brilliant! Please don't have kids and pass this kind of wisdom onto them.
