'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Owen on the Squad Scenario!

He may have scored twice up at Glandford Park but there`s a real possibility that Michael Owen will once again not be in the starting line-up this weekend when we visit Bolton.

However, speaking to the tabloid press, Michael accepts that he is likely to get some much coveted match time with United set to enter a busy period whereby Champions League and Carling Cup games supplement the hectic Premier League schedule, when he remarks,

"It was a good workout at Scunthorpe and we`re glad to go through as some big teams went out."

"There were a lot of players there who needed that first - some coming back from injury and some who hadn`t played, so it as beneficial."

"We`re into the period now where the Champions League and Carling Cup have started, and obviously, there`s league games."

"I`m sure there will be a lot more games coming thick and fast now."

Exactly, football has evolved in recent years and it is more readily accepted that it is a squad game, although listening to the twaddle that comes out of Eastlands the message obviously hasn`t reached them yet!

If he takes his chances when given and continues to perform well in training he should get plenty of game time. However, how would Fergie take off Berbatov or Rooney? I personally would prefer Rooney to be taken off espicially with his dip on form and our need of goals however Rooney has become Fergie's golden boy since Ronaldo's departure.
