'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - It`ll Be a Youthful Approach Again!

Having won the Carling Cup for two years running, it`s hard to offer any criticism when it comes to Sir Alex`s team selections in the competition.

Sir Alex uses the Carling Cup`s early stages; to blood his young talent and it looks as if that policy, one that has served him so well, will be continued tonight, in the fixture at Glandford Park.

In the build up to the match, Sir Alex confirmed as much remarking,

"We played a lot of young players last season and they all acquitted themselves well."

"We`ll do the same at Scunthorpe. Bebe`s training very well. He`ll be involved."

Tonight, with Scunthorpe having nothing to lose, could be a baptism of fire for some of those younger players!

It used to reall hack me off when certain clubs put out their youth and/or reserves for this competition, despite seeing the point in giving fringe players a bit of game time. Getting used to it nowadays though!

Did I say I was getting used to it? Buggger.

"It'll be a youthful approach", a very successful one at that.
