'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Vidic Leads the Acclaim!

If there was an election tomorrow I`m not sure that would be considered newsworthy enough to knock Dimitar Berbatov off the media pedestal he`s currently stood on.

It`s all in stark contrast to the coverage he was given last season and also in stark contrast to the media driven suggestion that he`d be leaving Old Trafford last summer.

But, behind the scenes at Old Trafford, there never was any doubt that Dimitar would be a success with our new club captain, Nemanja Vidic being amongst those now stepping forward to air his views in the media.

Vidic, who himself was the subject of rumours linking him with a move away from Manchester, is attributed with having commented to the media,

"We`re all aware of how good Dimitar is."

"His skills with the ball are incredible."

"The criticism he got last year was because he didn`t score many goals. This season he is scoring a lot - and important goals too."

"He`s learned what he has to do. He`s changed his game compared to last season. He`s in the box more and is more of a threat."

"Dimitar has always had a great touch and gave us composure, but because he`s also going into the box, he`s scoring."

"That`s why he`s getting so much credit. Even before the Liverpool game, he had played some good games and scored a few. With the ability he has and the goals he can score, he can definitely become the player of the year."

Now that would be something wouldn`t it, following in the footsteps of Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney!

If he keeps up his performances he will definately be a strong contender with Malouda & Drogba I would assume.
