It remains to be seen whether Dimitar Berbatov can keep the rich vein of form he`s currently in going.
Over the course of a season so much can happen with reference to injuries, team form and even the odd suspension or two.
But, Dimitar is now in the perfect position to push on and have a real season to remember. His six goals have provided the platform the Bulgarian might just need to finally cast off those accusations that he was an over-priced signing who has done little to justify his price-tag.
So what has Dimitar done differently, in the close season, for him to be now looking like the player we all hoped he would become?
Speaking to the media as the adulation over his hat-trick against Liverpool continues to grab the headlines, Dimitar has spoken about such a subject, explaining,
"I was disappointed with myself that I could not please all the supporters."
"I`ve said before the people of Manchester United are the judges and that is the way it should be. It is their team. I am a guest. A privileged guest."
"I`m just so happy, so confident. I feel like everything I imagine on the pitch will come true and that feels awesome. I have worked hard on my fitness, so hard."
"I`m not a weights guy. You can see that by my body, but I have been trying even to work on that. I ran six miles every day during the off-season. I watched one World Cup match, went for a run then watched another and went for another run." That was my routine."
"But the way I feel right now. I`m not tired. I feel alive."
"I have always said I am so lucky to play here: for these people, for this manager, for this club, with these players. I can`t describe it."
It`s also fantastic to hear that somebody who must be wealthier than anyone of us can ever dream of retains such a sense of humility. Good on you Dimitar!
