United - Sir Alex on Berbatov!

It`s great to see that Sir Alex Ferguson`s faith in Dimitar Berbatov is starting to pay-off.

The Bulgarian striker leads the scoring charts, courtesy of his hat-trick against Liverpool and in his post-match interview, Sir Alex went to great lengths to discuss the apparent transformation in Dimitar`s fortunes whilst also going on about how last season wasn`t what was expected of the striker.

Here`s what Sir Alex had to say,

"The second goal was unexpected, a surprise attempt."

"Not many of those end in the net but we are probably now beginning to see Dimitar believe in himself."

"There was a lot of criticism of him last season but it happens when players sign for United for a lot of money and they aren`t scoring hat-tricks in every game."

"That`s the way of the world with some players who come here. But this season he has started in the right fashion."

"His training has been good, he was good on the pre-season tour and he has carried it on."

"There has never been any doubt about his quality and we have seen it here today."

"Lots of questions were asked about him last season and he was made something of a whipping boy, to the point where he must have wondered whether he had a future at Old Trafford."

"I concede that at times he seemed to struggle but, if you are satisfied about a players credentials, you must persevere and trust your judgment. You must have faith and I think we are being rewarded this season for our confidence in a player who has a touch of genius about him."

"We paid a lot of money for him but a lot of the criticism last season was unfair and we should have understood that."

"Certainly this is a big season for him, one that could determine the rest of his career."

Exactly, let`s not all get too carried away, if Dimitar is too finally cast aside those demons that have haunted him at United then this is the kind of form he has to display on a regular, season long basis.

5 games in and 5 great performances from him. Let these performances get better and better with each game!

It's simple really, the penny seems to have finally dropped with Fergie on how to use Berbatov properly, he must have been talking to Martin Jol over the summer.

Now we just have to find a way to get rooney to play with berbatov... what if we tie up a whore on the goal's net and give him the ball? i'm sure he'll find his way to score?!?
