United - Vidic is Sir Alex`s Man!

United - Vidic is Sir Alex`s Man!

During the week, the inference from the British media was that Rio Ferdinand would be given the captain`s armband now that he`s recovered from his knee injury.

It appears though that the media have jumped the gun with Sir Alex Ferguson offering a different viewpoint on the subject in the build up to the titanic clash with Liverpool.

Ferguson has re-iterated that Vidic is the man for his, explaining,

"Nemanja Vidic has been given the captain`s armband because he has been available all the time."

"We want it to be a player who`s consistently available for us."

"Everyone will recognise that if Vidic is fit - and he has been all season - he`ll always be there."

"You wouldn`t leave him out of your team unless you were resting him."

"He has started the campaign as the captain and it will stay that way."

Does Sir Alex have nagging doubts about Rio staying fit?

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Fergie woudl've contradicted himself had he appointed Ferdinand captain over Neville due to the fact that he doesn't play regularly so Vidic was the right choice. Evra's dip in form rules him out for me and Vidic is really reliable, experienced and talented. Hopefully his reign as captain is a successful one whether its short-term or long-term.
