United - Our Cole Interest?

United - Our Cole Interest?

Back in the hazy days when the transfer window was open, rumour after rumour inferred that we were after Joe Cole, who had just been released by Chelsea.

Now as we all know, it was a move that never materialised and Joe Cole will be wearing a Liverpool shirt today, hoping to put one over on us and perhaps score another sublime goal just like he did on his last visit here with Chelsea.

Speaking about Cole, ahead of the fixture, Sir Alex Ferguson has pointed out that the interest was only slight from our side and driven by the player`s agent, when he remarks,

"We were approached by his agent at one point but we didn`t enter in to any discussions."

"It was maybe just too complicated to get involved."

We`re intrigued by the use of the word complicated! If Cole was out of contract, were the complications relating to his possible salary request or what?

Most probably, all the rich care about is getting richer. Would've liked him but would've preferred it if we got Van Der Vaart or Ozil over him.

What's so complicated about being too skint to pay his wages? The only thing complicated is coming up with a decent story to explain why you "Decided" against signing him.

Famous, I do not ever attempt to wind you lot up without letting you know I'm doing it. I'm just telling you the truth - Or do you prefer to believe that you really were trying to sign David Villa? Don't make me laugh mate.

And once the attempt has failed you claim you weren't trying to wind-up in the first place, i'm sure if you got a few biters the case would've been different.

im sure coles transfer would have been no more complicated than tevez at the time he came to utd.just another pathetic excuse from the master.i think cole could have done a job for utd.the days of 30 million buys are long gone until the ugly ducklings go back to america and fleece somebody else.
