United - Talk that Refuses to Die!

United - Talk that Refuses to Die!

It`s a rumour that refuses to go away!

Back in the days when the transfer window was open, time and time again we were linked to a move for the out-of-favour Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema.

This morning, one leading gossip column infers that Benzema has been targeted by a trio of clubs with a move away from the Bernabou, in January, with the three likely candidates being Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus.

Could the reported Gerard Houllier interest in Michael Owen (as reported yesterday) provide the opening for Benzema to arrive at Old Trafford in January?

Or are the press just getting a little carried away with so little transfer rumour to comment on?

In one sense I would like to see him sign but another I would prefer it if he were to rot on the Madrid bench. Funny how Fergie was willing to spend 25 mil on him but not on Tevez, must've really wanted which is why I still have a faint belief that given the opportunity Fergie would sign him.
