United - Beattie Could Have Been a Red?

United - Beattie Could Have Been a Red?

The ghost of Goodison could rear its ugly head this Tuesday!

With United set to take on Glasgow Rangers in an all-British tie, a former Goodison favourite, James Beattie, has spoken about the time United were, supposedly, interested in signing him.

Beattie, who moved to Ibrox from Stoke, during the summer, has remarked,

"I heard a few years ago, when I was doing well at Southampton, that Sir Alex was maybe having a look at me."

"I was only a goal or two away from winning the Golden Boot that year, so perhaps there was something in it."

"I have played against United at Old Trafford nine times now but I still haven`t scored there."

Hopefully it will not be tenth time lucky for a player that, if the story is correct, could well have been wearing our shirt!

Goes to show what a patch of good form could do for an average player.

Well he ain't scored for us so far. Would be ironic if he got his first goal against yo.
