United - Queiroz Sacked!

United - Queiroz Sacked!

Last week I think it was, we commented on the four month suspension handed out to Sir Alex`s former assistant Carlos Queiroz.

We questioned why the Portuguese authorities had given Carlos a four month ban, knowing he`d not be available for vital European Championship qualifiers, instead of just showing him the door.

That appears to have now happened with it being reported that Carlos has been axed as the Portuguese coach.

But, in a strange twist of fate it appears that all is not well with the sacking with Carlos lawyer, Rui Patricio, believing his client has been unfairly dismissed and that dark forces were at work, remarking,

"We are not satisfied with the fact Quieroz`s rights are not being respected."

"If the contract has been terminated without just cause, there has to be compensation."

"If there has been interference from the government then international organizations, and I mean FIFA, will be alerted."

Since taking over as the Portuguese national coach, Carlos` record is quite respectable with the statistics reading

Won 15, Lost 3 and Drawn 8

It`ll be interesting to see if these accusations of dark forces at work lead to anything sinister being uncovered, we suspect not!
