United - Scholes is Your Man!

In the first of what will become a regular monthly feature on this site, we asked you to vote for your 'Player of the Month` for August.

Putting forward the names of seven likely candidates we weren`t too surprised to find out that we had a runaway winner, with Paul Scholes polling a huge 78% of the votes cast.

I think you`ll all agree that there was only ever going to be one winner for the month of August and that the right man took the honours.

As for the other nominations, they fared as follows,

Dimitar Berbatov - 7%

Ryan Giggs - 5%

Nani - 4%

Nemanja Vidic - 2%

Edwin van der Sar - 2%

Darren Fletcher - 2%

No arguing that Scholes has been class for you this season, but where is his successor? Can't see him doing the business beyond May 2011, so where are you going to get anyone nearly as good as him from?

He has been sensational. fcb, i doubt Fergie would try to directly replace Scholes, a different type of player e.g. Anderson would be introduced. The same way he didn't directly replace Ronaldo. Plus, where would you find a talent like Scholes these days?
