United - Giggs the Boss?

Approaching the end of what has been an illustrious career, could Ryan Giggs be about to enter into another aspect of football?

Giggs, having retired from international football back in 2007, is, if the tabloid press are correct, a leading candidate to replace the out-going Wales national boss, John Toshack.

With Toshack set to quit the role there are several sources suggesting that Ryan Giggs will be approached to take over the reigns.

However, it`s also been suggested that this could be on a part-time basis as the Football Association of Wales (FAW) realise that trying to lure him away from United on a permanent basis could prove to be too risky if Giggs is indeed the man they have in mind as the real successor.

A FAW spokesperson has had his say on the situation, remarking to the media today,

"Nobody has asked John to leave and he hasn`t been pushed, this is totally his decision. But Ryan has always been seen as his long-term replacement."

"He has already said it is a job he would want and he would certainly galvanise the players."

"It`s just a case of whether this opportunity has arisen a little early for Ryan."

"But to get around that he could be offered a deal where he can carry on playing - just like what we did with Mark Hughes and that was successful."

It`s certainly an interesting offer for Ryan to, potentially; ponder over although the media are also suggesting that Mark Bowen, Dean Saunders and Chris Coleman might have something to say on the matter!
