Fergie Reveals His United 25!

Fergie Reveals His United 25!

Sir Alex Ferguson had dabbled with the idea of including Owen Hargreaves in his 25 man squad and the news released tonight confirms Hargreaves has made it.

Hargreaves, who has had a nightmare time with injury joins 24 others in a squad that cannot be changed until the transfer window re-opens in January.

Hopefully, by then, we`ll be in serious contention on four trophy fronts. Here is the full squad.

Ben Amos, Darren Fletcher, Tomasz Kuszczak, Darron Gibson, Edwin van der Sar, Ryan Giggs, Wes Brown, Owen Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson, Park Ji-Sung, Jonathan Evans, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, Antonio Valencia, Gary Neville, Dimitar Berbatov, John O'Shea, Javier Hernandez, Nemanja Vidic, Michael Carrick, Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney.

In addition to the 25-man named squad, clubs can use an unlimited number of players aged 21 or under. This means that Manchester City's new £22.5m striker Mario Balotelli, who is just 20, does not need to be named in their 25-man squad. According to the Premier League: "An Under 21 player is defined as one who is under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences. For the 2010/11 campaign Under 21 players will have been born on or after 1st January 1989."

Anyone else confused and concerned that Ben Amos is named in the squad as he is born 10 April 1990. He is a freeby. Is it cos he is a goal keeper? We have only 23 players over 21 in the squad! Oh dear. VDV would have looked good to fill the squad out a little.

Kuszczak would get his chance the same way Foster did fcb (surely no-one can do as bad as Foster did). BBM, I would've loved to see us sign Van Der Vaart, especially at 8 mil, though im not too concerned that we didn't and that 2 players aren't over 21 its still a very broad and talented squad.

Chelsea's squad only contains 21 players, only 4 of whom qualify as home grown, so i wouldn't worry about only having 23 over the age of 21 The problem I can see with your squad is you do look rather thin in certain key areas, particularly keeper as I alluded to in an earlier post.

I see nothing wrong with the keepers. Kuszczak is more than capable to cover for VDS and in the unlikely event that he gets injured too Amos will get a chance. Some of the finest keepers ( Akinfeev, Lloris, Mandana, Neur, Adler ) are young and were given their chance at a young age so there's no reason to rule Amos out especially when you haven't seen him play.
