United - Rio Returns!

The first team may not be in action until the weekend after next but there is an intriguing reserve team fixture taking place this Wednesday night.

United take on Oldham in a fixture that has some real significance as far as Sir Alex Ferguson is concerned because it signals the return to action of a certain Rio Ferdinand.

Rio, injured at the training camp prior to the 2012 World Cup Finals commencing has made splendid progress in recent days and the reserve team run out could prove to be a testing ground for the return of our influential centre back for the Premier League fixture against Everton on 11th September, a return that would, hopefully, set Rio up to play his part in two crucial home fixtures against Glasgow Rangers (Champions League) and Liverpool (Premier League).
