'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Rio Displays Admirable Loyal Trait!

It didn`t take too long for Rio Ferdinand to jump to the defence of his national boss did it?

After Fabio Capello shipped more criticism, courtesy of a leading tabloid, yesterday, Fabio`s appointed captain, had this to say,

"We didn`t play well at the World Cup but it doesn`t make him a bad manager. People are jumping too far, too quick."

Now we may worship you in a United shirt Rio but I`m sure there are many out there, when it comes to the national side, who feel that Fabio failed to deliver, in South Africa, and should have paid the ultimate professional price!

What do you reckon?

Capello was awful but the media, who were so quick to back him, are worse. I said along time before the World Cup his tactics (or should i say tactic) wont work. His team selections were questionable, his subs left you baffled, the insistance and stubborness to stick with the same 'boot it up to Heskey' tactic was frustrating. I'm of the opinion that Capello is just trying to pick up his pay cheque and then head on the first flight back to Italy.

Good on Rio for supporting Capello like that. England played incredibly during qualification and no one was complaining and after a bad world cup everyone wants his head. I think what the England national team needs most is some sort of continuity in order for all the players to properly flourish.

Can't blame Capello... the players were a disgrace!
