United - Mancini Responds!

Roberto Mancini my man, now you can consider yourself a victim of Sir Alex`s famous mind games!

Yesterday Sir Alex was attributed with having mentioned, in numerous papers, that he wasn`t a fan of these clubs who have wealthy owners and who spend lavishly in order to capture glory.

Now he didn`t name any club but it was fairly obvious, to many, that his barbed comments were aimed at our Manchester rivals, City.

City, who have failed to win any silverware for over three decades and who yesterday added, rather extravagantly, an ordinary midfield player to their squad for an outrageous fee, finally believe they`re closing in on achieving their goal of putting some silverware in the boardroom.

However, despite Sir Alex not mentioning any club by name the verbal assault, Roberto Mancini swallowed the bait and saw fit to reply, counter-remarking,

"It`s normal when you want to buy a good player that you have to spend money. It is not important for me (what Ferguson says). I respect his opinion but I repeat that United, like City, have spent a lot of money in the past."

Not important?

Why reply then Roberto?

Touch a nerve did we?

I think that Milner is somewhat more than an "ordinary" player but agree that the transfer fee was excessive. But then why shouldn't Villa (and others) play hardball when the likes of Man City come calling? There is a view that they bought him because they were afraid that in a year or two, Man U would come calling.

bbj - who's view is that? Stevie Wonder's?

Ah, in the myopic world view of a red a response to taggart's crap is getting under Mancini's skin is it? Sorry chaps, Mancini is no Spanish Waiter, no Keegan, he's not even a Mark Hughes, so I reckon old red nose will have to try a wee bit harder than that.

RedDevilKile
This is a manure forum Kylie, that's why I talk about manure and it's fans. Sure you don't really want me to talk about City over on this side, despite most rags fans seeming obsession with us. P.S. Kamikaze spending eh? How about some Kamikaze borrowing? http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-19/manchester-united-s-glazer-to-start-paying-16-25-on-soccer-purchase-loan.html

While we're on the subject of the crumbling ered empire, it's nice to see that yet another of your "world beating youngsters" has made the grade. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1304584/Rodrigo-Possebon-calls-time-Manchester-United-career-returning-Santos.html My money is on Obertan to be the next one out the door.

lol what bout robinho
RedDevilKile
oh , not a kid but a waste of money , and possebon like many had his chance with us , the best , u have no chance to at least get a few young players to go to try a chnce for shi.tty because ur team is meaningless and have no background
RedDevilKile
Bluedub, is Stevie Wonder's opinion not a valid one?
