United - Why Am I Smiling Today?

One lonely transfer rumour drifting like a lone cloud across the sky fills me with warmth today!

Now there may not be any truth in this one at all but just reading it warmed the cockles of my heart.

One source has suggested that Manchester United have lined up a successor to Edwin van der Sar.

With Edwin approaching his fortieth birthday it`s acknowledged he isn`t getting any younger and despite some glorious displays will retire sooner or later.

So who is the suggested replacement, someone who has put that sparkle back in my eye?

Well it is none other than the Russian stopper - Igor Akinfeev!

Currently playing for CSKA Moscow, Akinfeev is recognised as a class keeper, so now you can see why I`m smiling!

No doubt I`ll be brought back down to earth with a bump when it`s confirmed it`s all a load of tosh!

What a great signing that would be. I would love to see him in a united kit.

More chance of signing Mesut Ozil I'd have thought.

Or perhaps we should target Joe Hart?
Red Boy
Yeah... That's what I read at manutd.com and I've been dreaming this guy played for us since last year. BUT, van der Sar is still at his best, just like Scholes & Giggs... (at least we got another year to lure him if we failed this year). Hopefully he'll join us which is he'll be glad to...
