United - Fergie on Strikers!

No, not those of the industrial kind!

On the eve of our first Premier League game of the 2010 / 2011 season, a fixture against Newcastle United, Sir Alex Ferguson has already given his quartet of strikers reason to up the ante.

With Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen and Javier Hernandez tasked with the job of getting United` goals this season he`s dangled a fair old carrot in front of them as a means of motivation.

Recalling past years and in particular 1999, Sir Alex has expressed his desire that the class of 2010 can, eventually, attain the level that the likes of Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reached, remarking,

"The four strikers I had back then were superb players."

"We hope the current lot develops to the same level. But you have to wait with young players."

"With young forwards, you don`t have the same problem as with young defenders. They won`t cost you the game, though they may win you a few."

"Hopefully young Hernandez will win games for us, because he looks like he has goals in him."

Interesting to see that the young Mexican is more than just on the periphery of his plans for the coming season.

However, we`d like to know, purely in the realms of Fantasy Football, which four of the eight strikers we`ve mentioned would you choose?
