United - Perm One from Two!

According to the Sunday Mirror, Sir Alex could be about to land a midfielder!

But there`s a debate raging as to who it will be!

It appears that United are reluctant to meet the asking price Werder Bremen want for Mesut Ozil and that Sir Alex may turn his attention to the Portuguese midfielder, Raul Meireles.

But, if paying £12 million for Ozil is considered to be too much then we`re a little baffled as to how it is perceived paying £15 million for Meireles is not!

Anyone care to explain or offer an opinion on which of the two you`d prefer to take?

No thanks. He's not the sort of midfielder we need.

Well, doesn't look as though it will be Ozil. Funny, these days players seem to be cutting out the middleman and going straight to Real! http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/42201/Ozil_to_snub_Premier_League_interest.aspx

I saw this article and thought exactly the same thing! My view is that we wont sign anybody. The only areas we could possibly strengthen are left wing and central midfield. Ozil would fit the bill, but to be honest - I dont really want him anywhere near our club. I can accept that he'd rather play for one of the spanish giants than us - but to talk about how much he loves barca and then jump at the chance to join madrid (essentially ensuring he'll never get to play for his boyhood team) suggests to me that the guy is just a a money grabbing ****. I reckon we're better off giving Obertan, Cleverley and Anderson the chance to prove themselves than buying the bug-eyed mercenary.

I could've swore that Man U or Chelsea were his preferences thenhe goes on to say playing for Barca is a dream and as soon as Real Madrid put a bid in he wants to go to them. He really is desperate for a transfer isn't he? He would be a good signing offering a much needed AM but i would rather we wait til December and see how Anderson works out and then if it comes to it and Anderson still hasn't progressed then try and sign him up.

I also find it pathetic that teams like Barca and Real Madrid are signing players they dont really need. Between Kaka, Xavi, Iniesta, Van Der Vaart, Guti (if he's still at Madrid) and possibly Fabregas next year for Barca (unless Arsenal want to get mugged and lose him on a free) is Ozil and absolute necessary for any of them?
TheFamousNo7
The midfielder is from the Albanian third division and will cost £7 million and Fergusons son owns the Albanian team but that is pure coincidence. It will be another thrilling marquee signing.

Ozil is going to real?? damnit. He's best bet would be bayern, they revel in their german players.Wont defour be cheaper than meireles?
