United - Bebe Signs for United

And just as I stick a poll up asking you who you believe will form our striking partnership for the first game of the season, Sir Alex throws a spanner into the works by signing another striker.

The player in question is Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, commonly known as Bebe from the Portuguese club, Vitoria de Guimares.

The fee is rumoured to be £7.6 million with United having triggered the buy-out clause in his contract.

At 20 years of age and at six feet two inches tall, he appears to be the perfect target man and his arrival was greeted by the following announcement from Old Trafford,

"Manchester United is pleased to announce it has reached agreement with Portuguese club Vitoria de Guimares for the purchase of 20-year-old striker Tiago Manuel Dias Correia - better known as Bebe - for an undisclosed fee, subject to a successful medical in Manchester later this week."

Now whether Bebe is work in progress of almost the finished article remains to be seen!

Fergie must've really wanted him to exploit his buy-out clause. Here's a big fat WELCOME BEBE!

Doubt it Chelsea 24/7, though he must be a grafter to get from nothing to something.

a work in progress I'd say!

Some interesting info on Bebe, according to the sun he was only 40-or-so days into his contract. Apparently Queiroz recommended him to Fergie also Real Madrid began to show interest in him. If all this is true then we may have the real deal in our hands.

Yet another marquee signing - you Rags are just getting spoilt aren't you. Broke and boring.
