Heavens Above Fergie Praises Fixture Change!

Heavens Above Fergie Praises Fixture Change!

If we were to be honest it`s a rare occasion when Sir Alex actually praises the fixture schedulers.

But with our pre-season campaign and subsequently our Premier League programme opening fixtures being affected by those who were on World Cup duty, Sir Alex is actually quite pleased that our opening fixture isn`t until the Monday evening when Newcastle arrive at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex sees it as being blessed with a couple of extra days to sharpen up those players, remarking,

"We`re lucky because we don`t play Newcastle until Monday so they will actually have a few days to recover. It could have been someone else who got that luck but we`ll take it."

And I`m sure he said it with a wry smile on his face!
