United - Owen Wary of Wembley Pitch!

United - Owen Wary of Wembley Pitch!

After coming a cropper on his last appearance on the now infamous Wembley pitch, perhaps Michael Owen might be a little wary of being selected this Sunday.

Owen, playing in the Carling Cup Final against Aston Villa, tore a hamstring and didn`t feature again last season after doing so.

Speaking about that day and also the current state of the pitch, Own has had this to say to the national press,

"I wasn`t the only injury to come out of that game and that`s worrying."

"If it had just been me then you could say it was just a freak. But the pitch must have had something to do with it."

"There were loads of injuries either in that game or the England match a few days later."

"I was at Wembley about a week ago. They were working on the pitch installing this new thing which means 10 per cent of the turf is now synthetic. Hopefully it makes it better."

Whatever next! Synthetic turf! We`ll be heading back to plastic pitches soon!

Think you're being a bit too gracious in calling that bog-hole a pitch!

Why keep on spending loads of money re-turfing it? Why not just admit its a 5h1t ground put a 'caution' sign in the middle of it and save bundles?
