United - German Interest?

United - German Interest?

If you believe the gossip featured on various web sites dealing with football transfer rumours, there could well be a scout or two, from Manchester United, at Craven Cottage this weekend.

Fulham are playing Werder Bremen and the buzz doing the news agency rounds is that Manchester United are keen to bolster the midfield element of the squad with a swoop for the highly rated Mesut Ozil.

But, if Werder Bremen don`t play ball or Ozil isn`t very receptive to a move to Old Trafford then the inference is that the attention will be switched to another Werder Bremen star, Piotr Trochowski.

Now one thing bothers us, if Ozil is the preferred target then why would we ever contemplate settling for second best?
